Jack-a-Boobie

Well here we go again just like the song eh?  It’s tough watching all these bands and reviewing lol!

Tonites General Jack!  With Kim on vocals bustin’ thru an A to Z again of classic music – a literal alphabet of rock, loads of ACDC, Manics’ Sabbath, Lizzy and there’s ZZ Top/Zeppelin too!

High points for me were  The Cults ‘Lil Devil’, ACDCs ‘Up to my neck’ off the Powerage Album and UFOs ‘Doctor Doctor’.  More ACDC next, ‘Down in Flames’ and a barmy Pistols ‘Vacant’!  ACDCs ‘Dpwnpayment Blues’ met The Damned ‘New Rose’.

‘Rock n Roll Damnation’ just about sums up the nite!  Ha!  I really enjoyed it, oh and did I mention they did ACDC?!

Next up The Almaboobies, Lady Rockers who were spotted by Oz and Deb at the Rock n Blues Custom Show where they gained a mighty reputation as did their 27 track set list which had to be split into two halves!  Gud job they were jotted down for me eh? (Ta Deb)!

They started off with Green Days ‘American Idiot’ just about setting the speed and pace with their energetic style of rock.  Not bein’ metal/punk or alternative, just bloody good fast paced sing a long stuff!  Like their rendition of the Clashs ‘Should I Stay?’ and Buzzcocks ‘Ever fallen in love?’ later Sweets ‘Wig Wam Bam’!

Later ons second half after a raffle, were ‘Skools Out’ ‘Hangin’ on a telephone’ and jetting to ‘I hate myself for Lovin you!’.  Getting’ ALL goin’ even more Rolling Stones and Undertones collide together with ‘Paint it/Perfect Cousin’.

Back to the metal next up with ‘Round Smoke on the Ironman’!!
Sparks were flying too with a rock version of ‘This Town ain’t Big Enough’, still not stopping the girls pay tribute to their influences  Girlschool and Suzie, Q with ‘Race with the Devil’ and ‘Devil Gate Drive’.  After a brief moment the Encore’s cap off the nite with a final blast of ‘Teenage Kicks’, ‘I Love Rock n Roll’ and a quick ‘Paranoid’.
