AKA CD Sampler
Slice of Rock!
There are so many pub cover bands out there! So will one more make a difference? I think these guys will, judging by this great CD! Keeping to the original tracks they easily glide between Queen and Rainbow, the vocalist adapting to Graham Bonnet and Freddie Mercury with ‘Since you been gone’ and ‘Hammer to Fall’. A version of Van Halen’s ‘Jump’ has you imaging what they’d be like in the pub after a few pints. A very pleasant change next up ‘Easy’ no not Guns N Roses – the Faith No More/Commodores showing light and shade and a spot on solo! ‘Love in an Elevator’ is just like the original I kid you not! Ending with Freddie again with ‘One Vision’. With the build and start, the bitey riff would have the place playin’ ‘Air Guitar’ No Probs! HA! The guys cope well with the ‘ballady’ vocal but in the middle, again with a great solo and drum bit ‘Gimme Gimme Fried Chicken?’ That’s not all they do either! They set covers 30 years of rock from The Darkness, ZZ Top and Chilli Peppers to Oasis, Nirvana, Green Day and Kaiser Chiefs so book ‘em now! When I caught the guy’s live I witnessed great renditions of Lenny Kravitz’s ‘Are You Going My Way’ and ‘Teenage Kicks’ (Undertones) plus another 23 tracts from both modern and classic. Especially their Nirvana and Nickleback have to be mentioned!
Cheers to Ronnie and the guys for the CD! Lee
