Here I am at the Double Drat’s 1st Birthday Bash enjoying a pint or two!?!  Mixing with “Drat’s” and “Old Fartz”!  Enjoying the cool sounds of the rock disco and waiting for a band I’ve seen several times in the gig guides.

If like me you’re into the “Spirit” of the 70’s music and wanna hear the “Cream” of the sounds – these guys are the band for you!

They played in two set’s delivering a unique combination of styles!  Namely “Cream/Hendrix/Stevie Ray Vaughn” and even Robin Trower, proving to be more than a “Pub” band!  Recreating the feel of “Cream” with the “Big – Bold” sound, feedback filled Hendrix, to the scratchy blues feel of Stevie Ray!  Also, the incredible build up and “Wah Wah” style of “Robin Trower”.

The crowd pleasers in the 1st set included “Hear my train a comin”, “White Room” and the double Bob Dylan wammy of “Like a Rollin Stone”/”All along the Watch Tower”!

After a brief pause for liquid refreshment and mingle with the friendly crowd, Pete, Simon  and Jason carry on holding the crowd who by now were responding loudly!
“Fire”, “Crossroads”, “Foxy Lady” and a montage of Robin Trowers “Bridge of Sigh’s”/”Rock Me Baby” were well received!
Also to mention is that many of the songs were famous versions of live tracks complete with their improvisations!

So next up we’re treated to a great “Purple Haze” and set closer – a feedback filled “Wild Thing” a great end to a good nite, Eh?!
