Judas Priest & Scorpions
JUDAS STING!
Here I am, been waiting for months for this concert/tour package! Two of the greatest 80’s metallers!! I’m 3 from the front, stage right with 30ft high speakers in front of me!, as the ‘Scorps’ run on stage running wild and thru an hours worth of hard rockin’ track’s, “Comin’ home”, “Love Drive”, “Big City Nights”, “Bad Boys – Running Wild”, “Black Out”, “Dynamite” and “Rock You Like a Hurricane” to mention a few!! During “The Zoo” Klaus Meine’s banging drum sticks on a ‘cow-bell’!! Then throwing them into the crowd, He must have got through 30! So, ‘Klaus’ is still singing along with “Rudi & Mattia’s” on guitar too! Along with a new drummer and a bass player who’s been with them 10 years! They really rocked and had the crowd on their side! They looked a lot older but still had a ‘sting’ in their tail!
Next up a long awaited “Re-united Priest”! They’re back alrite! A mega-stage show with flames, flags, high walkways and hidden lifts so you never know where “Rob’s” gonna pop up! They’ve dug from the vaults along with the new stuff too! A 2 hour set starts with “Hellion/Electric Eye” and “Metal Gods” with Rob Halford doin’ a ‘robotic walk’ like a true Metal God!! “Breaking the Law” begins with each member of the band ‘strumming’ each others guitars! Then into “Touch of Evil”. A couple of golden oldies off the “Point of Entry” album next with “Heading out on the Highway” and “Hot Rocking”. New stuff like “Judas Rising”, “Demonizer” and “Hell Rider” stand up well with ‘em all! With great crowd response as the Pyrotechnics and show were awesome! “Turbo” with its synth guitar meets “Painkiller” taking any doubt from my mind about ‘Halford’s’ ability to get the ‘high notes’ as he seemed to go into ‘Overdrive’ after this for “Beyond the Realms of Death”, “Sinner” and “Victim of Changes”, during which teetering on the edge of the stage, He hit the highest scream. The crowd moved back 3 paces, whilst yer ‘balls’ were vibrating and ‘ribs’ were rattled at the sheer volume and intensity! Next up the ‘Bike’ comes out for “Hell bent for Leather”, the crazy crowd are greeted next with a ’semi acoustic,’ then rocked up and ‘emotional’ “Diamonds and Rust”, with everyone singing along in unison.
Cheers! A Very Deaf Lee Man! |
