BASHING THE BISHOP!

What do you get if you cross Jimi Hendrix with Chubby Brown and adda little “Punk”?  Well that combination will just about describe “Lord Bishop” with his political and sexual song’s with the everest of “Punk” and the sound and feel of Hendrix.

So we’re at the Marr’s Bar waiting for the “Lord” who has a growin reputation by word of mouth as he recently opened this years “Bulldog Bash”.

After 2 support bands and a few pint’s, He starts off with a few fast rockin tunes “Bad Love” off the ‘Sweat and  Blood’ album, a really heavy fast “Punky” feel track followed by “Monster”, “Sweet Soul” and “Betsy”!
A real treat next, an extended “All along the Watch Tower” by Hendrix and a play on “Red House” too with “lots of love”!  Changin the words to a hilarious song bout a huy who’s girlfriend’s sister says “She don’t love you no more!” which is sung by the crowd in hysterics?

Another cover “Hey Joe” goes down well, followed by “Lord Bishop” telling us that he loves “Oral Sex”!!  So the “Honey Groove” track next up is all bout his favourite meal?!
“Brainland” and “Freedom” done quite differently follows up next, leading to a short break before the final rockin “Great Ass!!”  Bringing the packed dance floor to the end of the nite!

His track’s on his 2 albums “Sweat and Blood” and “American Lies”  are quite political ranging from “Shot Down” bout “9/11” and “Poll Tax”.  Racism on “Devil Inside” thru to the final sexual tracks like “Great Ass” and in particular “Honey Groove!”

A great fun rockin nite out with a refreshing mix of styles all round, which was also enjoyed by Hendrix’s bass player, the late Noel Redding” who managed “Lord Bishop” on his first tour of Ireland!!

Two Greats Together, EH?
