Oi you lot of local website junkies! These Guy’s need checkin’ out cos’ they’re the ‘Work Horses’ of the local scene! Constantly playin’ all round the area, even managing to get up to the ‘Chestnuts’ in Sheldon recently! When I saw them last at a ‘Past It MCC’ gig, they had ‘Dio’ alike singer who did a grand job, but just like ‘Rainbow’ they’ve traded him in for a ‘slicker’ more stylish guy with a wider range and capability of styles. They’ve got 19 tracks in their set list, constantly changin’ as they try out new ideas? Including four or five of their own stuff too! They cover old skool stuff like ‘Sandman’ with perhaps a view to changing it to ‘sad but true?’ as recently done, along with the 70’s stuff like ‘Wild Thing’ and ‘20th Century Boy’, ‘Crazy Train’ and my fave – ‘Whiskey in the Jar’!! A great CD sampler of what’s to come is also available featuring a refreshingly done ‘Black night’ which has had life added to this ‘old’ filler? ‘Mean Bone’ by the Snake’s has great riffs and grows on you big time along with ‘Rise Up’ It’s a real winner! Then it’s a blast of ‘Sandman’ always a reliable track with ‘Skid Row’s’ 90’s hit ’18 and life’ too!! Also live the Guy’s do ‘Smokin’ in the Boy’s room’ and ‘Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door’ the Bob Dylan/Gun’s n Roses crowd pleaser, so go catch ‘em some time?! Did I also mention that Bass man ‘Baz’ used to be a ‘Grim Reaper’ too!!? And that they’ve got their own very tasteful t-shirts on sale! So don’t forget me Guy’s , I’m a large!! HAHA!!! Cheers!
