Beer from the Barrel!

From Wednesday 16th to Saturday 18th April 2008 the Red Lion in Bromsgrove held a ‘Beer from the Barrel Beer Festival.

Using ‘Stillage’ and cooling equipment, there were 6 ales set up in the pub and served by Richard Scott directly from the barrel.

A great variety of beers ranged from J W Lee’s G B Mild, York Breweries ‘Guzzler’ and ‘Terrier’ thru to Roosters ‘YPA’ (Yorkshire Pale Ale), North Yorkshires ‘Rocket Fuel’ (Golden Ale) and ‘Hunny Bunny’ (Golden Bitter).

The festival lasted four nights and was supported by the Redditch and Bromsgrove Camra Branch, supporting their local.

A great time was had by all as 56 gallons/448 pints were consumed!
