GIRLSCHOOL
“Foxy Ladies?”
Who’d ave thought it – Nuneaton being the newly emerging hot bed of Rock? This was my second gig in a matter of months in this town in a second and again new venue! Walking in on the “School” doing their thing about 2 tracks in was an absolute pleasure - using their wealth of gigging experience to shoot thru a set that pleased all! Songs we grew up with like “Hit n Run”, “Yeah Right” with the band members laughing and joking in between songs was refreshing and felt more intimate than a concert, more like a gig in your front room!! New tracks off the recent CD “Believe” were easily got into, sandwiched between even more well spaced out classic’s, like “Demolition” “Emergency Tush” and even race with the Devil which no one expected judging by the crowds reaction, many rushed to the front of the dance floor for an old fashioned “Headbang” just like an old Skool disco? After the gig Enid, Kim, Denise and newer girl Jacky an mix with the Liggers at the bar having photos, drinks and a chat about old times? Gathering round the merchandising stall I got a “bostin” t-shirt off Enid who told me all the stories behind the CD albums on sale. It was a much welcomed “Meet & Greet” as it’s called I think?! Nice one Girls! Cheers Lee man
