Rose & Simon’s Wedding Bash Inc Double Drats MCC St Georges Day Party Featuring ‘The Lightning’ & ‘Highway’ 19th April 2008
St George and Rose’s Dildo’
Never mind Posh & Beck’s, how about Rose & Simon? It’s their wedding combined with the Drat’s party – now there’s a day to remember! Loads of clubs showing support for this popular crazy couple.
So I made the effort and got a ride on a mate’s bike for the ride/meet from Rosie’s house for the convoy to the registry office in Bromsgrove.
On arrival the whole street’s queued up with a recovery truck (Rosie’s lift), trikes and about 30 bikes. Following a quick ride thru town it must have taken 15 minutes for all to get out of the road!
At the Registry Office! - It’s packed out; only 2/3 can go in. The rest have to wait in the next room or outside. There’s a party like atmosphere where shaven bikers have purple hair extensions or hair nets and curlers. One Double Drat member with ginger dreadlocks and all the above being asked to move as the Registar couldn’t concentrate! For which after the proceedings she was given the ‘bumps’! Oh, I didn’t mention the dancing in the aisles to Billy Idols ‘White Wedding’ – check the website for photos and apparently a video clip!
Good conditions for the ride to Alverley made it more memorable as was the massive buffet organised by Jax and Beez.
It was soon demolished by the hoards of guests whilst being serenaded by ‘Speed Triple’ guitarist Paul Snooks who played a few tunes during the afternoon as the ale flowed nicely!
So to the evening ‘St Georges Party’ with more MCC’s showing support namely the Minger Gang, Unwanted, Rebels, Legends and a few Past It’s, showing the popularity of the Double Drat’s Club. Kicking off were support band ‘The Lightning’ playing quite heavy versions of rock allsorts including Cream’s ‘White Room’, Hendrix’s ‘Hey Joe’ and Lynryd Skynyrd’s ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ after which the high point of the nite! The exchange of wedding vows according to the biker law? or the Reverend Old Un to be precise, plus his sidekick SisterAli!
Rose and Si were escorted thru a packed room to be given away whilst having to walk thru a guard of honour/salute of working/moving vibrators! A sight to be seen! So check out the website for the pics!
Simon had to promise to flush out her cylinders and lubricate her pistons in return for Rose promising to ‘ride him til death’ each morning and after work! During which a huge 5ft and 2ft wide inflatable penis was being banded around behind them, making it ‘hard’ for all concerned to concentrate!
I really don’t know how ‘Highway’ were able to follow these going’s on? But on they went, these 14-15 year old rockers delivered 21 tracks of classic rock! Kiss, Thin Lizzy, Guns n Roses to mention a few. Particular faves being Sabbath’s ‘After All’ a track not usually covered, ACDC’s ‘Long Way to the Top’ and Metallica’s ‘Sad But True’ a refreshing change to the usual ‘Sandman’.
Then finishing off ‘Smoke on the Water’ and ‘Long Live Rock n Roll’. So long live Highway!!
